You seem to think dumb powers are a bad idea for a superhero movie. So I guess you wouldnt be a big fan of my screen play about Bouncing Boy. I am currently working on a screen play for Arms Fall Off Boy and I think I got a winner.

Dont miss the saga of Bouncing Boy at:

i still wish Katie Holmes had stayed on board as Rachel Dawes for the Dark Knight; it was like the time spent getting familiar with her character in Batman Begins was wasted...

Lots of good points, Luke. I'm not really a comic book person, but this caught my eye and made me laugh.

They ARE making a Thor movie, which should be probably pretty good. I heard rumors of Wonder Woman - might be good, too, as long as they steer clear of the Catwoman catastrophe (punny, I know, thanks). Marvel's making all of the movies of some or another of their leagues of superheroes (fans, don't get your panties in a bunch, please), so that should bring all of the "good ones" together (says my boyfriend).

Oh, I have to disagree with a lot of this list. Let's go through them:

Wonder Woman: are her powers really any stranger than being able to shoot heat out of your eyes? THe costume is the biggest issue, but they can make something that would work.

Green Lantern: No longer vulnerable to yellow, so that's no big deal. As for his insane amount of power- it just needs to be toned down for the movies. When the first Chris Reeve Superman movie came out, Superman could fly through the sun and push planets out of orbit. The movie version worked because the writers lowered his strength and invulnerability.

Arm-Fall-Off Boy: yes, a terrible star for a film, but would be a funny cameo in a Legion of Superheroes movie.

Thor: The Ultimates showed that there's a way to make Thor work.

She-Hulk: a terrible name, but often a good comic. THe main problem would be making her look believeable. In a comic book, someone can be eight feet tall and green, yet still look "right." In the movies (as both "Hulk" films have shown), it looks pretty goofy.

Dogwelder: Obviously, I'm a little partial to this guy. He was written to be as bad a superhero as possible, and he cracks me up. I would never want to see him as the star of a movie, but if they made a "Hitman" movie I'd sure want him to have a scene or two.

Superpets, AMV Man, Boomerang, Red Bee: Well, yeah, those are lame.

And how could this list mention the Whizzer as an also-ran (heh!) without pointing out the amazing way he gained superspeed - from an injection of mongoose blood! Yeah, that'll work.

Hi Katie, thanks for your nice blog entry - glad you enjoy the podcast. Just to say, if you Skype "answermethis", it's a lot cheaper than an international call.

Cheers,
